Sanderjan Cornelis
In his studio, Sanderjan combines centuries-old craftsmanship with queer activism, humour, and contemporary imagery. "I create (glass) works that play with light, colour, and identity, sometimes outspoken, sometimes subtle, but always with character."

Take me to church
In these works, Sanderjan presents male figures in a pose that seems toseduce. Secretly, they pull up a garment, or they are dressed in items that relate to their fetish.
There is a great contrast between the theme of these works and the form of the work. The typical arch used in church windows gives the work its shape. These works have a break edge that is also used in church windows.
In the church, male figures in art are often glorified for their devotion. Sanderjan breaks with this norm by showing men in their "sin."
