There exists a moment between sleeping and waking in which nothing is required. The alarm has already sounded, the day waits patiently, but under a warm blanket, the outside world seems not to exist for a little while longer.
I wanted to capture that feeling. It is not the body itself that is central, but the peace it finds. The disappearing into soft folds, the holding onto warmth, the small protest against the rush of every morning.
Perhaps we all recognise that desire to stay lying down for just five more minutes. Because some moments are too beautiful to let go of immediately.
